I was born John Kelly Peterson in Denison, Iowa, on St. Patrick's Day...hence I go by the Irish name Kelly. At the age of four, my parents moved back to their hometown, Boone, IA, a place I called home until high school graduation in 1994. I spent the next 5 years in Ames, IA, at Iowa State University where I received B.S. degrees in Finance and Marketing. As part of a summer internship program, I moved to London in 1999 and landed my first real-world job with a marketing/PR firm which would transfer me to San Diego in the September of that year. A client convinced me to move back to the Midwest in 2002, and this individual ultimately showed me the path of becoming an enterpreneur the following year. In 2008, the economy made a tough decision easy as I turned in my passport for a school ID. In May 2010, I graduated with a 4.0 GPA from the John Cook School of Business at Saint Louis University. I have my emphasis in Entrepreneurship - the program at SLU was recently named a top 5 school for entrepreneurs in 2010 by Fortune magazine. After weighing my options, I moved back to Iowa and after a quick stint there, I find myself back on the entrepreneurial path which has taken me out West to Denver, CO. The newest venture, Review Rocket, will launch in Q1 2012. More to come on this over the next couple months.
For fun:
Any activity on the water -- boating, sailing, skiing and simply lounging. Other activities include golf, snow skiing, live music, sporting events, wineries, fantasy football and working out (occassionally)
Favorite foods:
Sushi, pork roast, bacon,tapas, anything on the grill, Mexican, Chinese and corn on the cob
